আ-23| আপনি শুতে ঠাই পায় না শংকরাকে ডাকে।
He who has nothing to spare must not keep a dog.

আ-24| আবল তাবল না বলে আসল কথায় আসো।
Don’t beat around (about) the bush- get to the point.

আ-25| আমড়া গাছে আম হয় না।

আ-26| আমরা কাজেই বাঁচি, বয়সে নয়।
We live in deeds, not in years.

Cut your coat according to your cloth.
Spend within your means.

আ-28| আরম্ভ করলে আর শেষ করতে কতক্ষন?
A thing begun is half done.
Well begun is half done.

আ-29| আলোর নীচেই অন্ধকার।
The nearer the church, the further from God.
